The Lodigiano is the ideal place for people wishing to freely ride their bikes, to realx in the nature and to taste the wine and food specialities of this territory. Indeed, thanks to its flat conformation, the Lodigiano makes cycling possible for everyone: lovers of this kind of holidays, families with children, people who love outdoor life and wish to allow themselves to enjoy a little time of freedom and tranquillity. The Lodigiano is easily reachable both by car and by train.

 

On the contrary, while navigating the river Adda one has the chance to look at wonderful natural sceneries, thanks to a sinuous itinerary passing through a rich and varied flora. There are several species of birds living along the river. The Mattei Motor Ship carries out the service of tourist navigation, providing visitors with any kind of comfort and several tourist packages.

THE CYCLING PATHS OF THE TOURIST SYSTEM PO OF LOMBARDY

In the territory of the forus provinces belonging to the System, that is Pavia, Lodi, Cremona and Mantua, there are about 2.000 km of cycling paths, which are far from the traffic and run entirley on a flat land. There are many chances for trips, both one-day only or longer.

The “Lodigiano a ruota libera” Consortium (Lodigiano freewheel consortium) offers three different tourist itineraries:

 

“Discovering rural tradition” – DURATION: 2 days

WHO IT IS DIRECTED TO: this itinerary is ideal for people wishing to break up the city-life routine to go in search of an ancient culture with its traditions.

 

“Discovering wine and food” – DURATION: 2 days

WHO IT IS DIRECTED TO: this itinerary is dedicated to the discovery of the tastes of the Lodigiano and it suggests some stops along the way in order to enjoy some tasting menus prepared following old recipes.

 

“Discovering the Lodigiano” – DURATION: 4 days

WHO IT IS DIRECTED TO: this itinerary allows visitors to get to know in-depth the lodigiano territory, following a different path each day and allowing to taste all the traditional dishes of the area.

During the time of the Gastronomic Festival of the Lodigiano (October-November) the bike rental will be free for those people choosing the festival menu and only by previous reservation.
