The Festival
The offer of the lodigiano Festival is suitable for all tastes, since it embraces different typologies of restaurants: from the eating house to the restaurants in a rural environment, from the elegant historical city centre of Lodi to restaurants placed inside nature estates of great value (The Boscone in Camairago, which is also reachable by boat, and the Gerette in San Colombano), where together with lunch or dinner, tourists can spend a day outdoors.
The thing that links all these different places together is their philosophy: this land, where sitting at the table is “sacred”, is on display for two months, during which restaurants, each with its own peculiarities (from crystal glasses to wine “bulbs”), are at their best.
There are more novelties: during the Festival, some restaurants will offer some “specials” dedicated to pumpkin and to all those recipes having it as a main ingredient, and then to the “house specialties”, that is a single dish (consisting of game or something else) of which the chef is particularly proud and finally to cold cuts, cheeses and wines tasting. During these nights, customers are guided by sommeliers and experienced tasters from the Onaf, the Onaf and the AIS.
Finally, there also are some other activities linked to the Festival. For those wishing to do so, it is possible to couple the visit to the Festival with a tourist day in the lodigiano and there are three main ways to plan it easily. For each restaurant, the organizers of the festival indicate the closest site of interest to visit; otherwise, tourists can visit the website www.sagrelodi.it, where they will discover the several cultural and folklore initiatives characterizing our territory. Finally, for those who love package tours, here is a calendar of small tourist packages, with Milan as a departure point (Piazza Castello) and including a visit to one of the excellences of the territory, lunch or dinner and the return to the Lombard capital city.
